From $12,500 AUD
A property is more than a collection of garden beds, buildings and paddocks. It is a connected landscape, shaped by its natural patterns, existing features and the people who live within it.
A Maplewood concept design brings these elements together into a cohesive vision for your property. Combining permaculture principles, ecological understanding and a considered design sensibility, we create landscapes that balance beauty, productivity and function.
Every commission begins with understanding the land: its topography, soils, water movement, vegetation, aspect and existing infrastructure. From there, we develop a design that responds to the character of the property and the aspirations of the people who live there.
What's included
Bespoke illustrated concept plan
A large-format A1, full-colour hand-drawn and digitised illustration, individually created to communicate the overall vision, structure and character of your landscape.
Supporting design booklet
A beautifully presented A4 document outlining the design rationale, site considerations, planting recommendations, water management strategies and suggested implementation stages.
Site visits and design development
Approximately 4–5 hours of on-site discussion and consultation throughout the design process, allowing us to explore opportunities, refine ideas and develop a design suited to your property.
Design guidance
Practical recommendations and supporting information to help you understand your design and confidently bring it to life over time.
Is it right for your property?
Our concept designs are particularly suited to rural properties, homesteads and larger residential landscapes where there is an opportunity to consider the property as an integrated whole.
Designs may incorporate productive gardens, orchards, food forests, naturalistic planting, windbreaks, water harvesting, livestock systems, access and landscape infrastructure.
Each commission is individually scoped according to the size, complexity and requirements of the property. Additional travel is quoted separately.
Our concept designs are artistic and spatial design documents, not construction drawings, engineering plans or detailed building specifications.
We undertake a very limited number of private commissions each year, allowing each project the time and consideration it deserves.
