Your teachers
Will and Anthea are educators and designers with a rare blend of deep permaculture knowledge, practical garden design, horticulture, and teaching expertise. Will trained through TAFE NSW (The National Environment Centre), earning a Certificate IV in Permaculture under Beck Lowe, while Anthea completed Permaculture Teacher Training with Hannah Moloney and Brenna Quinlan and is currently expanding her learning with David Holmgren and Beck Lowe through their 2026 PDC. Both have completed Permaculture Design Certificates at Limestone Permaculture and trained in Creative Leadership and Dynamic Facilitation with Robin Clayfield.
Their combined study spans permaculture, dropping out of horticulture, naturalistic garden design, and ecological tree systems. Along the way, they completed Dan Pearson’s Naturalistic Garden Design Masterclass, the field-based Master Tree Growers course with Rowan Reid, a Bachelor of Teaching and Bachelor of Arts with Honours, a Diploma of Professional Styling, and qualifications in Children’s Services, all while raising a family.
They teach workshops, talks, and short courses for councils, organisations, community groups, festivals, grower’s markets, schools, and preschools. Lead teachers of the Permaculture Design Certificate and Homesteading Coursewith Limestone Permaculture, they have also guest taught PDCs at Purple Pear Farm with Kate Beveridge and Mark Brown. They are the founders of Permaculture at the Pub, a grassroots initiative supporting community knowledge sharing.
In practice, Will and Anthea grow and sell farm produce, run a private design and consultation practice, and contribute to freelance writing, including curriculum development. Will’s design illustrations have been featured in workshops, published articles, and as a Copic Ambassador.
Their work has been recognised in Grassroots Magazine, Sowing Seeds Magazine, and Hunter & Coastal Lifestyle, and they have appeared on the Practical Permaculture Podcast and The Australian Garden Podcast. Their property has been a filming location for Grand Designs Australia, and in 2024 they were shortlisted for the Environmental Education NSW Sustainability Connect Business Award.
They are passionate about lifelong learning and bringing thought, function, and beauty design into the garden.
